About Me

I am a highly qualified and experienced counsellor, clinical hypnotherapist, and trainer in positive thinking and personal development.

I have more than 15 years of experience in private practice.  I help clients in individual sessions to increase the quality of their lives. I have run several different kinds of workshop (e.g. ‘Positive Thinking’ and ‘Assertiveness Training’), and have worked in grief and loss counselling with CRUSE (the UK’s largest bereavement charity).  I was also a practitioner for fifteen years at The Whole Works, a Complementary Therapy and Counselling Centre in Edinburgh.

I have trained in the following therapy approaches :
Integrative Counselling (Central School of Counselling and Therapy), Creative Imagework, Grief and Loss Counselling, Counselling for Eating Disorders, Assertiveness Training, and in person with Louise Hay (‘You Can Heal Your Life’), Jon Kabat-Zinn (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), and Ken Wilber (Integral Lifeskills Coaching).  I can combine elements from any of these to suit your personal needs.

I am also trained in Clinical Hypnotherapy (with NLP).  I use Hypnotherapy either on its own or also – most powerfully – in combination with Counselling and Lifeskills Coaching.

My background is in education, having taught at a Rudolf Steiner School and at Edinburgh University (IALS).  I have also worked in the business world and know the stresses of modern work environments.

Through my extensive training, my varied work with clients and my life experience, I have developed a unique way of working with you, the client, so that you can be helped in your individual needs in your present life situation.
